LED Lighting advantages
LEDs – short for Light Emitting diodes are types of lighting that is efficient and long lasting. Fluorescent lights and incandescent lights are made from filaments in glass bulbs filled with gas, whilst LEDs are small lenses in which small chips are placed on material that is light conducting. Each LED can be from 3 to 8mm in size and can either be used singly (as in Christmas lights) or with several forming an array. This small size and profile allows this type of light to be used in spaces too small for other types of light bulbs, and because they only emit light in one direction they are more efficient than other lighting that waste energy by emitting light in all directions.
